Now available for sale from our collection is a John Wayne owned 1971 Honda SL350. This is your chance to own an awesome classic and vintage motorcycle that was owned and ridden by the ‘Duke’ himself. Check out the photo in the gallery of John Wayne dressed in full western regalia riding the Honda SL350. The Honda SL350 is a great all-purpose dirt bike that has many off road-features and is also street legal. The paint on this bike is in excellent restored condition with proper striping and decals and the leather seat is in new condition with no rips or blemishes.

Engine

Air-cooled, single overhead cam, vertical twin-cylinder 326 cc engine producing 33 horsepower at 9,500 rpm. This four-stroke motor’s bore and stroke is 2.52 inches by 1.99 inches and a compression ratio of 9.5:1. Twin 32mm Keihin carburetors and uses a battery-and-coil ignition system with an electric and kick-starter.

Chassis/Drivetrain

The bike has a five-speed gearbox and a multi-disc wet clutch. It is stopped using front and rear expanding drum brakes. It had an upswept expansion-chamber type exhaust system.

Dimensions

The SL350 has a 52.8-inch wheelbase with a 8.3-inch ground clearance and a 33.1-inch seat height. Its curb weight is 366 lbs.

Performance

According to Honda, the SL350's top-end speed was 86.04 miles per hour at 9,460 rpm. It would go from 0 to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds and do a standing quarter-mile in 15.95 seconds at 78.39 mph. The bike gets 50.9 miles per gallon.

As the original California registration card shows American Honda Motor Co. sold this 1971 Honda SL350 VIN#SL3502031281 was registered to John Wayne at 2686 Bayshore Newport Beach, CA. 

John Wayne the actor lived at 2686 Bayshore Newport Beach, CA address from 1963 until his death in 1979.
